Ying wu Cheng

Ying wu Cheng, a beloved father, grandfather and friend, passed away in peace on November 9^th in UC Davis medical center, at age of 83, with his family surrounded. He was born in China, in Heilongjiang Province. He worked as an electrical technician, and an electrician class instructor. As a well-known electrical technician, he helped factories, companies, and organizations solved hard problems. He lived a tough life, but he was always strong and optimistic. He experienced poverty, discrimination, and unfair treatments brought by The Cultural Revolution. He survived lung cancer six years. During his time with cancer, he always lived an independent life. That was why he liked to call himself “a growing grass under a rock”, and with that as the book title, he wrote a novel about his life for over three hundred thousand words. 

He immigrated to the US in 2001, and worked hard to learn English as a second language. He learned English in Adult School and in an English class in his senior apartment. He also liked writing poems, and enjoyed watching Chinese TV and programs.

His smiles impressed many people. His friends, relatives，electrician students, English classmates and teachers, they all like to get together with him, talk with him and had a great time.

He leaves behind a legacy of wisdom, perseverance, kindness, tolerance, and integrity.

He survived by his wife, a son, a daughter and a grandson.

His funeral will be held on November 23^rd, 2022 at East Lawn in Downtown Sacramento.

程颖悟，一位受人爱戴和尊重的父亲，爷爷和朋友于二零二二年十一月九日在加州大学Davis医院安详辞世，享寿83岁。 辞世时亲属围绕在身边。程颖悟出生于一九三九年一月三十日，出生在中国黑龙江省巴彦市。作为一名高级电气工程技师，一生致力于电气事业的科研实践与教学。为解决困扰各个公司企业多年的电气难题，有求必应，不计回报和报酬，骑行数小时，不辞辛苦帮助企业再生，也保住了众多员工就业和养家的工作岗位。由于专业技术高超，声名远播，而受聘于和平区科协，对下属企业的电工们进行授课和职业培训。

他的一生艰辛，早年生活充满贫困，一生受困于文化大革命所带来的对家庭背景的歧视和排斥，时代限制阻碍了他的升学和就业。生活不公及磨难铸就了他坚韧，乐观和宽容的性格。在确诊癌症的六年里，一直保持乐观并独立自强的生活。他常常自嘲自己是“一棵顶着石头生长的苗”，并以此命名写了一本三十余万字的自传体小说。

他于二零零一年移民美国，之后努力学习英文。 坚持多年去成人学校学习英语，闲暇时喜欢写诗和看中国新闻及中文节目。

他洪亮的声音及爽朗的笑声经常感染身边的许多人。他的亲戚朋友们，电工课程的学生们，和一起学习英语的同学们都喜欢围聚在他身边畅谈并共度欢乐时光。

他的一生像阳光一样无私地普照大地，胸怀宽广，不计较个人得失，服务他人，利益众生，为子孙后代后代留下深厚的智慧遗产和福德。

程颖悟先生的私人葬礼将于十一月二十三日举行。愿阿弥陀佛保佑加持他，往生西方极乐净土，永脱世间烦恼及六道轮回之痛苦！阿弥陀佛！
