Born December 30, 1927, in Zhongsan, China. Passed away September 3, 2024. Yin Ping Low came to the United States with her husband, Gum Joy Low in 1950, and settled in Walnut Grove. She lived there raising her family, but also ventured out to work in various harvests for local farmers and processing plants. Known for her work ethic, she worked in the pear, cherry, asparagus, Chinese pears and tomato harvests. She lived in Walnut Grove until 2002, when she moved to Sacramento to be closer to her family. She was a loving mother to Sandra Low from Pleasanton, Nancy Woo (Darrel), Eileen Park (Steve), Terry Hamasaki (Fred), Michael Low, and Alan Low (Patti) all from Sacramento and Debra Miyamoto (Stan) from Danville. A special “PoPo” to Leslie Low, Lance Low, Alyson Haleen (Nick), Lauren Prizmich (David), Brian Park, Wesley Hamasaki (Jade), Lindsay Visante (Paolo), Scott Miyamoto, Amy McKee (Mike), Lisa Flor (Bryce), Kathryn Low and Elisabeth Low. A special “Tai-Po” to great grandchildren Kira and Jemma Miyamoto, Chloe and Carter McKee, Miles Flor, Brooke and Camilla Hamasaki and Mason Visante. She loved caring for and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking knitting and crocheting. She donated her knitted work products to various organizations such as to the preemies at the Sutter Memorial Hospital and Shriners Hospital, to Meals on Wheels participants and to residents at the ACC Care Center. She will be dearly missed by her family. Private services were held at East Lawn Memorial Park on September 15, 2024.
