Obituary Willis “Boyd” Jensen,

Boyd Jensen passed away on September 28th 2021. He was born in Murray, UT to Willis Jensen and Clara Taylor.  Boyd is survived by his two sisters; Lynn Willingham and Susan Briggs and his seven children; Marcia Harris, Michael Jensen, Stephen Jensen, Caryn Stapp, Sarah Blair, Rachelle Anderson, and  Jared Jensen. His legacy includes 35 grandchildren 41 great-grandchildren.

He married his beloved wife Diane DeLucia in the Salt Lake City Temple. They were married for 52 years. Boyd made life fun for those he knew with games, laughter and a good water fight. He and Diane nurtured a garden and shared the fruit and flowers from it with many. The peach milkshakes Boyd made fresh from his cherished peach tree were to die for.

A love of music permeated his soul, and he intoned his fine tenor voice in quartets, church choirs and at home where his joy was to hear his family sing together harmonically, filling the house with beautiful music.

Boyd’s professional life as a photographer began at Aerojet, photographing rocket boosters. Later he worked in the Art Department at KOVR T.V.  and taught photography at Sacramento City College. Diane assisted him faithfully on numerous photo assignments.

As a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Boyd worked tirelessly serving the Lord. He blessed the young, the aged, the needy and downtrodden with creativity and love unfeigned. Boyd and Diane supported each other in the many dramatic and photographic church events they produced to build faith.  They served a mission in Palmyra, New York and in the Church History Museum in Salt Lake City where he photographed art and historical holdings for the church.

Boyd cared for Diane as she suffered with Alzheimer’s disease until her death in 2009. Afterward, he embarked on the adventure of a lifetime, photographing 63 US National Parks. His children were able to accompany him on many wonderful trips. Wildlife and nature’s beauty became a passion for him that he shared with others.

Boyd Jensen was a treasure to all who knew him as he endeavored to bring joy to all.  Faith in God, admiration of nature, service to others and dedication to family were hallmarks of his beautiful life.
