William Yee, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed peacefully on the morning of Saturday, June 14, 2025, at his home in Sacramento, CA surrounded by his wife and family.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on July 20, 1941, William was known for his quiet strength, gentle smile, and deep devotion to those he loved. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and later became a longtime resident of Novato, California. He built a fulfilling 31-year career as an auditor at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, where he was recognized for his reliability and precision.
A true craftsman at heart, he found joy in woodworking and was always the family’s go-to handyman. His grandchildren brought him their broken toys and gadgets, knowing he could fix anything—not just with tools, but with patience and love. He also enjoyed model building, a hobby that highlighted his love for craftsmanship and his attention to detail.
Every evening, he found peace in his nightly swim—a quiet ritual that reflected his steady rhythm and calm nature. Though soft-spoken and a man of few words, his hard work spoke volumes. Persistence and dedication were evident in everything he undertook. His gentle presence, kind smile, and steady hands will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Wing-Yee; his son, Richard (Christy), and granddaughters Mia and Kiana; his daughter, Sandra (Kyle), and grandsons Jordan and Cameron.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 11 AM East Lawn at Greenback & I80 5757 Greenback Land , Sacramento CA.
