Born November 27, 1950 in Gary, Indiana and passed away May 6, 2022.
Lived through a revolutionary time when Black rights were being fought for. He experienced the deep prejudice of the country. Yet, he was always able to see the good in anyone regardless of race, color.
He graduated from Emerson High School in Gary, Indiana. He got his degree at Sacramento City College. He attended and completed courses at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California. He was sent to seminars in Chicago, Illinois and Los Angeles,
Loved the sports basketball, boxing and football and attended as much as possible. Played basketball on weekends with friends.
Had a deep love of family and spent his life as a father doing everything to provide love, support and a stable home. He welcomed everyone to our home and many became family.
At the job he retired from, Sacramento Regional Transit, he went from janitor to Superintendent of Material Management. Before becoming a manager, he worked many years with the Union fighting for employee rights.
Bill felt his greatest love, joy and accomplishment are his surviving sons Simon and Matthew. That love was given back to Bill. He is also survived by his loving wife Debra. Bill treasured the bonds he made with other people who became family.
