William Kenneth Boles

William “Bill” Boles, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 2, 2024, in Sacramento, California. 


He was born on April 12, 1946, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Kenny and Edna Boles. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Merry Anne Boles, his sons, Charles of Sacramento and Robert his daughter-in-law Heather of LaFayette, Ga. His beloved grandchildren Jackson, Peyton, and Mason. In addition to his immediate family, Bill is survived by his brothers David, Jerry, Joseph, and Thomas.


Bill proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1968. His dedication to his country was unwavering. After his military tenure, Bill pursued a career with the Southern Pacific Railroad and later with the State of California, Department of Justice, where he rose to the position of Supervisor. His commitment to his work was matched only by his involvement in various community organizations. Bill was a devout member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and Elk Grove Elks Club.


In his free time, Bill enjoyed following the San Francisco Giants and his dislike for that team in Los Angeles and also indulging in his passion for trains, and delving into the depths of history. Bill’s presence will be deeply missed by his family.
