William “Bill” Wiles passed away peacefully on February 23, 2023 at the age of 92 at his home in Sacramento, CA.
William was born on October 30, 1930 in Hamilton, OH. William knew as a young boy that he wanted to join the military and serve his country. After he graduated from Frederick High School in Maryland, he soon pursued his career in the military and joined the United States Air Force in 1950.
William met the love of his life Elfriede while stationed in Germany and soon married in 1954. Elfriede had a son John who William adopted, loved and raised as his own. William moved his family to the United States where they enjoyed many happy years together.
He had many passions including travelling, photography and tinkering in the garage. There was nothing that he couldn’t fix or take apart “as long as he had the instruction manual”! He was an expert at photography and was the photographer for both his high school yearbook and in the Air Force. He retired after 35 years of service. He is now at peace and reunited with his family.
