Wesley Kiyomi Kamiya

Wesley Kiyomi Kamiya, born June 6th, 1957 in Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2025 in his home in Elk Grove, California.

Wesley was a wonderful husband, father, son, and friend. He was known for being kind, funny, smart, and hardworking.

Wesley served in the US Air Force from 1977 to 1983. While serving, he made many lifelong friendships that eventually became family.

In 1985, he met the love of his life Nerissa and they married 4 years later. Together, they had two sons and one daughter. He loved being a devoted father and husband, spending quality time with his family. He especially enjoyed singing and playing guitar, performing together with his friends and family.

Wesley had an amazing career in healthcare for 34 years, working as a nurse and retiring as a manager for Kaiser Permanente in 2017.

In addition to his music, some of his many hobbies over the years included: fishing, golfing, tai chi, tang soo do, gardening, racquetball, tennis, bowling, and more recently, competing with his family in Mario Kart.

Wesley's greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by his wife Nerissa, and children Harrison, Christian, and Sarah, sisters Noreen Kamiya and Gaylette Okamoto, and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, close friends, and his loyal pup Monty.

There will be a short committal service held at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 25th, starting promptly at 1:30pm with light refreshments to follow. In addition there will be a Celebration of Life in June with details to come at a later time.
