Walter Un-Il Yi

Walter Un-il Yi passed away peacefully on August 07, 2022 to be with his Lord and reunited with his precious niece Danielle Pok, fiancée Angel Kwong, father Yong Ha Yi, and brother-in-law Jinoo Pok.

Walter was born in South Korea on October 1st, 1968. He immigrated to Sacramento, California in 1975 with his parents and 5 siblings. He is survived by his dear mother, younger brother and best friend Scott, and his older sisters Rachel Kang, Stephanie Kim, Chris Pok, and Anne Choy. In life, he enjoyed loving on his fourteen nieces and nephews, Danielle being the eldest and in heaven with him now. Mia, Aaron, Patrick, Tim, Nathan, Matthew, Elissa, Sarah, Clara, Tristan, Anna, Dylan and Julia all loved and respected their uncle. He also leaves behind three brother-in-laws, Stan Choy, Moon Kim and Edwin Kang and also numerous cousins and loyal friends whom he called brothers for life.

Walter was a successful data analyst upon his accident in 1999, which left him a quadriplegic. He was a fighter & a man of faith, and lived a purposeful life for additional twenty-three years. He used to always say, “we are so blessed.” And truly, he was the most blessed with the greatest gift of all and that is knowing Jesus as his Lord and Savior and for having a family that loved and respected him. We will miss Walter dearly but we are comforted knowing that he is no longer suffering and in a place where there is no longer death, mourning or pain. PTL!
