Wallace Kwan, Jr. (Wally) was born in Reno, Nevada and passed away in Sacramento, California. He attended the University of California, San Francisco, earning a Pharm.D degree, and served as Chief Pharmacist at Washoe Medical Center, Reno and as a Staff Pharmacist at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento.
Wally is survived by his sister Jean and brother- in-law Jim Yee. He leaves his beloved wife of 56 years, Gerlene, and their children Andrea, Barry and Darlene. He leaves his sons-in-law Mark Hanson-Kahn and Ronnie Gee, and his adored granddaughters, Rylie and Kenzie. He leaves a large extended family living all over California, Hawaii and Vancouver, Canada and beyond.
Wally was an ardent fan of the San Francisco '49ers, Golden State Warriors, and San Francisco Giants. He loved going bowling, a pastime he shared with his son Barry up to the very end. Wally attended Centennial United Methodist Church, serving as an usher.
Wally lost his battle with cancer, but now spends Eternity with our Heavenly Father. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Nature Conservancy or to Centennial United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sat., Jan. 17, 2026, 10:00am, at Centennial United Methodist Church., 5401 Freeport Blvd., Sacramento.
