Reflection of Life: But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord… Philippians 3:7-8
Victor Grailling McCaskill was the second born to the late Rudolph and Aldrema McCaskill, on May 8, 1955 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Victor was loved unconditionally and will always be missed by his daughter Lesleigh McCaskill and son Victor McCaskill; former wife and mother of his children Pauline Byrd; siblings Yasmin McCaskill, Gaynell Johnson (David*) and Theo McCaskill (Phelisa). He was preceded in death by his youngest sibling Trena McCaskill Avist (Larry “Steve” Jr.). He enumerated and was fond of his nieces, nephews, acquaintances, and special friend from youth Allen Mills.
Victor knew no strangers. He was humble, generous, sensitive, charming, and happiest being with family and close friends. He denied his illness and confinement, refusing to entertain speaking about it. His Spiritual growth appeared more apparent during his sufferings of physical pain and mental anguish. His favorite jewelry was the Christian Cross, which he wore faithfully.
In Your Hands, Lord Jesus…
This world system was not made for you, Victor. God indeed had a greater plan and purpose for your season here and beyond. It was not by chance that your path connected with mine of which I willingly got to know, love, and understand you. I thank God for allowing me to witness your acknowledgment of Christ and for giving us our beautiful children. The journey you have begun, we must all take. It's part of the Master's Plan, a step toward home.
