Thomas Anthony Kline

Tom’s life began in Scranton, Pennsylvania on December 9th, 1961. He was the firstborn grandchild of his grandfather Anthony Colangelo who was so proud to have a grandson and to spoil him with Hershey Bars. His father and mother, Mary and Thomas Kline were doting parents and always wanted a son to carry on the Kline name but changed Tom’s middle name to Anthony to honor his grandfather and also not to make him a Junior to allow him to forge his own path. Tom did indeed forge his own path as at 18 years old he became a volunteer fireman and Emergency Medical Technician for Apalachin Volunteer Fire Department as Tom loved helping others. Tom was working toward being a doctor and attended SUNY Binghamton and received a BS in Biochemistry. Shortly after graduation he met his future love of his life Linda Kline and was married on July 2nd, 1988. Two years later, on September 28th, 1990, he was blessed with a son, Andrew Thomas Kline. Tom loved the country and moved to Candor, New York with Linda, and Andrew where they had over 8 acres of land. He loved driving his 1953 Ford tractor. His dream was to retire and own acres of farmland. However, his career transplanted him and his family to California. Tom had a 35+ year successful career in safety and risk management culminating at Sedgwick. He genuinely loved helping others and was always talking about preventing issues before they became problems by accessing and reducing risk. He not only was an expert in risk management but was also a collaborator and outstanding presenter who knew how to sell his message and engage his audience fully. When Linda got extremely sick, several years ago, Tom researched to find her the absolute best treatment. During this period, He often commented about having an incredibly supportive and wonderful work family. He loved his family, his job and was very well liked and respected by all he met. Recently Tom also experienced a serious illness and while in treatment, unexpectedly passed away on August 19, 2024. He is predeceased by a brother Anthony. He is survived by and has one living sibling Eric Kline, who Tom always from childhood tried to be the Big Brother, Linda Kline his beautiful wife, and Andrew Kline his loving Son. He has Brother and Sister in Laws, Amy Kline, Larry Morse, Alan Gamble, Susan Gamble and Carol Morse and many nephew and nieces from the Morse family side. Thomas Anthony Kline was a light to this world and touched the lives and hearts of everyone who met him. Although we know Tom is in a better place, the world is a little darker today without him.
