Thomas D. Chastain

Thomas Duane Chastain, age 92, passed away peacefully at his home in Hercules, CA on Wednesday November 29, 2023.
Duane was born in Salem, Oregon and throughout his life lived in various other cities (Silverton OR, Sacramento CA, Rancho Cordova CA, Hercules CA).
Duane worked construction on the Detroit Dam after high school, and forestry logging in Oregon.  Once he moved to California, he worked at the Sacramento Port and delivered milk locally before entering his final profession of trucking.  Duane retired in 2002 as owner operator of D-San Corporation, a fuel transportation company.
Duane enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, jeeping and woodworking throughout his life. 
Duane is survived by his wife of 50 years Sandy Chastain of Hercules CA., his son & daughter in law Thomas Duane Jr & Jane Chastain of Sacramento, CA., his daughter & son in law Lynn & Tom Adams of NE Salem, Oregon, stepdaughter & son in law Jackie & Joe Crippen of Hercules, CA.  Duane is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 1 godson and various nieces and nephews. 
Duane was preceded in death by his parents Earl Thomas & Lucille Chastain, his 2 younger brothers Clifford and Jimmy Chastain, his son Craig Chastain, his daughter Gerri Chastain, 1 grandson and 1 great great granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 13, 2023 at East Lawn Memorial Park.  4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento CA 95819.  Viewing begins at 10am, services begin at 12 noon, followed by the internment at the cemetery.
