Terry J. Metcalf of Elk Grove California passed away on March 15, 2025 at the VA Facility in Martinez, California. Terry was predeceased by his wife, Sieglinde (Siggi) Blank of Burgbernheim, Germany and his parents, SGM (Ret.) James E. and Delois Metcalf of Sacramento. He is survived by his sister, Pamela Metcalf-Kunellis of Fair Oaks. Terry followed his Father’s example and enlisted in the US Army during the Vietnam war. He completed Rotary Wing (helicopter) training at Fort Wolters, Texas and Fort Rucker, Alabama. His first assignment was to Fort Hood, Texas where his Father was also stationed. He then served multiple tours in Vietnam flying Cobra attack helicopters. Subsequent assignments included Panama where he flew rescue missions in Central and South America, Fort Ord, California, Vilseck, Germany and Fort Jackson, South Carolina. After his discharge from the Army, Terry returned to Germany where he joined Siggi for approximately 25 years. Terry and Siggi spent those years traveling the world and spending time at their homes in Mallorca, Spain and Carmel California. He returned to the Sacramento area following Siggi’s death in 2002. He very much enjoyed his home on Laguna Lake and all his wonderful neighbors.
Graveside services will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi on March 26, 2025 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow at Wine and Roses 2505 W. Turner Road, Lodi, California. Memorial contribution can be made, in Terry’s name, to the Wounded Warrior Project at support.woundedwarriorproject.org .
