SACRAMENTO, CA – Sung Hae Hubbartt 72, of Sacramento passed from this life on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer’s. Sung was born on July 24, 1951 in South Korea, the daughter of Suk Soon Kim and Kum Ih Kim who both preceded her in death. On January 20, 1990 she married Ronald Hubbartt who has been her loving spouse for almost 34 years. Sung was gifted with a beautiful voice and she loved to sing. Sung was devoted to Christian music and played the piano, guitar, organ, and flute. She received a Master’s degree in Christian Music theology taught by the San Francisco Bible College & Seminary, Sacramento branch.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Hubbartt of Sacramento; her younger brother Young Chul Kim, his wife Soo Kim and their four sons, (nephews) David Kim, Victor Kim, Tim Kim and Sam Kim; her sister Kyu Hae (Esther) born on the same day July 24, 1946 who passed August 12, 2019 and married to Chong Ill Kim (Peter) with two sons, Bernard and Daniel Kim (nephews). Sung has one older sister living in South Korea Sun Hae Kim; the oldest sister Soo Hae Kang is living in Encinitas, CA and she has five children, James Kang, Jenny Oh, Andrew Kang, Veronica Song, and youngest daughter Esther Park (nephews & nieces). Sung did not have children but was a loving auntie to all her nephews and nieces. Her strong Christian faith was evident throughout her life. She was always kind and gentle to everyone she encountered. Her sparking spirit and laughter will be greatly missed.
The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the loving workers of First Call Hospice of Sacramento for their compassionate care during her passing and to the staff at Mercy General hospital Sacramento for their amazing support. Also, special thanks are extended to the wonderful, assisted living staff at Vintage Farmhouse, Sacramento. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 10, 2023 at East Lawn located at 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, CA 95841 between 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
