…..”weeping my endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”     -Psalm 30:5

Stephen Raynard Norman, a wonderful husband, father, and caring soul suddenly passed away May 1, 2023. Stephen was born on October 25, 1964, to the late Henrietta and Curtis Norman Sr. He was the youngest of six children. Stephen grew up in a small town, Kentwood, Louisiana. Stephen graduated from Kentwood High School in 1982. He received his bachelor’s degree for Management Communication from Southern Christian University in 2005 and his master’s degree for Management from Liberty University in 2009.

Stephen thrived in academics and sports. He was a member of the Kentwood High School Football Team, Track team, basketball team, talent search team, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Stephen accepted Christ at a young age attending Oak Grove A.M.E., in Kentwood, LA. His strong faith sustained him in life’s challenges. He always believed to never be moved by what we see; never be moved by what we hear; never be moved by what we feel; ONLY be moved by the word of God.

Stephen was united in holy matrimony to Jennifer Paige on September 13, 2008. Stephen and Jennifer went on to have one child, Myles Maxwell Norman.

Stephen excelled in everything he did. He worked as an elementary school teacher for the Vallejo Unified School District, and as a business development representative for Comcast/Xfinity. Stephen was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and kind heart. He had a knack for making people laugh and making children feel valued. Coaching Arlene Hein’s Middle School basketball team for two years was a highlight of his life.

Stephen leaves to cherish his memories his wife Jennifer; two sons, Raynard Stephen Norman and Myles Maxwell Norman; three brothers, John Edward Chaney (wife, Marquetta) of Carson, CA, Darrel Norman (wife, Cynthia) of Pasadena, CA, and Curtis Norman Jr. (wife, Fannie) of Folsom, LA; one sister, Maeattress Norman Brumfield of Kentwood, LA; a mother-in-law Claudia Paige, of Elk Grove, CA (who thought of Stephen as her other son); two brothers-in-law Woody Paige, Jr. (wife Carol) of Lincoln, NE, and Chris Paige (wife, Arnita), of Sacramento, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Henrietta and Curtis Norman Sr. and one brother, Willie Chaney Jr.
