Standley Oneil Newton, Son of Ralph and Kaye Newton, was born in San Diego, ca Feb 2, 1962. Raised in Biggs California he graduated in 1980 as valedictorian. He went on to Ricks College with a full ride scholarship for one and a half years before going on an LDS mission to Panama/Costa Rica. Upon returning he went back to Ricks where he graduated as the valedictorian. Then he continued his education at Brigham Young University with another full ride scholarship as well as receiving the Hinkley scholarship after a year there. He wanted to be a teacher and make a difference. He studied math and minored in Spanish. He taught in many different High Schools. Sutter, Indio, Valley, and finished at Monterey Trail. While teaching he coached girls basketball, boys baseball, and girls softball. In the LDS church he also served in various capacities. Elders quorum President, Sunday school teacher, councilor in the Bishopric, seminary teacher just to name a few. 

He is survived by his parents and wife, Karen as well as his 9 kids. Keri (Kris) Bianchini, Kyle (Holly), Keith (Sam), Kalena (Alan) Bingham, Karisa (Keng) Xiong, Kamra (Israel) Rivera, Kimball, Kumorah (Bryan) Gramse, and Krystol.
