Songxiu Cai 蔡松秀

蔡松秀女士于2023年3月16日在沙加缅度橡树疗养院安详离世,享年92岁。她的葬礼将于2023年4月19日11时在加利福尼亚州沙加缅度福尔松大道4300号东方墓园举行。

蔡松秀女士1930年8月13日出生于中国广东台山书香之家，父亲蔡子浓，母亲李美珍。她于五十年代毕业于华南师范大学， 先后就教于台山师范，台山二中，斗山中学和水步中学，1988年退休。她当教师几十年，勤勤恳恳，诲人不倦，桃李满天下。她退休后出任《水步侨刊》主编，下乡采访群众，接待并采访侨胞，向各界人士邀稿，把《水步侨刊》办得有声有色有内容。

蔡松秀女士与刘如舜先生(已故)于1960年结婚，婚后育有两个女儿。她于2001年移民美国加州沙加缅度，为这里的中华学校服务多年。业余时间，她努力学习英文，以满分通过公民考试。

她留下两个女儿，两个女婿，一个孙女和两个孙子。

Songxiu Cai, 92, peacefully passed away on March 16, 2023, at the Midtown Oak Nursing Home with her family by her bedside. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00am, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Boulevard, Sacramento, Ca. 95819.

Songxiu Cai was born on August 13, 1930, in Taishan Guangdong of China to Zinong Cai and Meizhen Li. After she graduated from South China Normal University, she taught at various middle/high schools in Taishan Guangdong, including Taishan Normal College, Taishan No.2 Middle School, and Shuibu Middle School. She retired from her teaching career in 1988. For over 35 years, she had put her heart and soul into education and was well loved and respected by her students. 

After retirement, Songxiu Cai worked for the Shuibu Overseas Chinese Magazine as chief editor for twelve years. As it was a small not-for-profit magazine, she had to do everything: including interviewing people, writing articles, inviting people to write, editing and proof reading, etc. The Magazine was adored by many overseas Chinese, quoting that it was informative yet interesting and fun to read.

Songxiu Cai married Rushun Liu in August 1960 and raised two daughters. She immigrated to the U. S. in 2001 and contributed tremendously to the Confucius Chinese School. In her spare time, she loved learning English. She received full marks in her US citizenship exam.

She is survived by two daughters, sons-in-law, a granddaughter, and two grandsons.
