Shirley Ann Dong was born to Kam and Berniece Loui on November 2, 1944 in San Francisco. It is said that she was named after the young Hollywood star Shirley Temple. She was the third of four girls born to her parents. As a teenager she moved to Sacramento and graduated from McClatchy High School and Sacramento City College. At the age of 20 she married her husband Daniel and raised four boys, namely Jeff, Michael, Alex and Jason. She worked as a key punch operator for CalPERS and retired as a supervisor of computer operations. Due to having a young family she worked the swing shift. She lived a simple life. She enjoyed playing poker and playing the slot machines at the casinos for fun. Most of all she cared for the family and made sure they were provided for and comfortable. She passed from this life in her sleep at the age of 79. She was loved and will be missed.
The funeral will be held at East Lawn Memorial Park Chapel (4300 Folsom Blvd) at 10:30am on Friday, August 2nd.
