Sherri Roush Arruda, beloved wife, sister, aunt, friend, and educator, passed away on May 12, 2026 surrounded by the love of those whose lives she touched so deeply. Born in Montrose, Colorado on February 8, 1971, Sherri was raised in Elk Grove, California, where she built a life centered around family, friendship, compassion, and service to others.
Sherri was the cherished daughter of the late Bob and Sharol Roush. She is survived by her loving husband, Randy Arruda; her sister, Shellie Roush; her brother, Glenn Smith; and her nieces, Kerynn Smith, her husband Galen, and their children, Cayden and Riley; and Julianne Smith, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
For 25 years, Sherri dedicated herself to serving students, families, and staff within the Elk Grove Unified School District. Her kindness, patience, humor, and commitment made a lasting impact on countless students, colleagues, and friends throughout the community.
Sherri found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She loved dogs, camping, and spending time with her family, friends, and coworkers. Whether gathered around a campfire, sharing stories with loved ones, or lending support to someone in need, Sherri had a way of making people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for.
She will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, unwavering loyalty, and the love she gave so freely to those around her. Sherri’s memory will continue to live on in the many lives she touched throughout her life and career.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
A Celebration of Life will be held on June 26, 2026 at 10:30AM at District 56 in Elk Grove CA. In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to:
