Sharon Lee Blakemore Reyes, age 65, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2025, after a courageous battle with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. She passed at her home in Sacramento, California, surrounded by her loving family. Sharon, who went by Shari, was born on April 5, 1960, in Mill Valley, California, the oldest child of Lee and Nellie Blakemore. Shari graduated from Bullard High School in Fresno, California, in 1978. She went on to attend California State University, Fresno (CSUF), where she earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing in 1983. While attending CSUF, she joined Delta Gamma sorority, and through her Greek life activities, met her future husband, Richard Reyes. Shari and Richard married on August 3, 1985, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Fresno, with Richard Christensen officiating. They were married for over 40 years upon her death and had two daughters, Natalie and Danielle. Upon graduating from college, Shari began working at Moore Business Forms and, in 1986, moved to Sacramento for a job promotion. Moore was acquired and changed names and hands over the years, but Shari always remained in a sales role at the company. She ultimately retired as a senior sales representative for RR Donnelley after a 38-year career. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Shari had a passion for sports. She played softball on her church team for many years and was a huge San Francisco Giants and Sacramento Kings fan. Shari’s greatest athletic feat was climbing Half Dome in Yosemite in 2012. Shari had an infectious smile and radiated joy continuously and was known for lending a helping hand to anyone in need. She was passionate about helping others and touched many lives with her generosity and positive disposition. Shari was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease in October 2019, at the age of 59, by doctors at the Weill Institute for Neurosciences at the University of California, San Francisco. Shari made the brave and generous decision to donate her brain and spinal cord to UCSF to help further Alzheimer’s disease research, an act she was very proud of. Remaining to cherish Shari’s memory are her husband, Richard Reyes; her two siblings, Jill Collings and Mark Blakemore; her children, Natalie (Reyes) Boylan and Danielle Reyes; and her grandson, Beau Boylan. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Nellie Blakemore. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service and celebration of life gathering on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at Faith Presbyterian Church, located at 625 Florin Rd, Sacramento, CA 95831. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association.
