Moved from this earthly home to her eternal home with the Lord at the age of 85, Sandra Kay Souza passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, at her home in Clarksburg, California, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Dunsmuir, California, on December 18, 1940, she was raised in West Sacramento and later made her home in Clarksburg, where she lived for more than 65 years.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Geary and Freeda Rapp; her beloved husband, Michael Souza; and her brothers, Donald, William, and Ronald Rapp.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Kim), Gary (Carla), and Cindy Murphy (Mark); grandchildren Renee (Mikey Klemm), Noah, Isaiah, Kayla, Jonah (Anais), Madison, Kristina, and Elijah; great-grandchildren Amina and Korry; brother Richard Rapp (Betty); and sister Kimberly Swift (Jack). She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.

She was an extraordinary mother, Nana, and great-grandmother. Sandy was a woman of deep faith who loved her family above all else. She especially cherished her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, her church family, the Clarksburg Garden Club, and her many dear friends. She loved carrying on the family traditions passed down by her mother and sharing them with future generations. From Christmas baking and holiday gatherings to family vacations and special trips together, she created memories that will be treasured for years to come.

Sandy had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and truly never met a stranger. Her home was always open, her table was always full, and she had a special way of making everyone feel like family. A friend to all, she touched countless lives with her love, grace, kindness, strength, and unwavering faith. She was known for her warm smile, joyful spirit, and a little bit of sass that made her uniquely herself. Sandy lit up every room she entered and embraced life with enthusiasm, gratitude, and love. She will be

remembered for the many lives she touched and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life honoring Sandy will be held at Clarksburg Community Church on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
