Sandra (Sandy) was born to Quentin and Arlawaine Johnson on July 12, 1951, in New Ulm, Minnesota.  She attended country school in rural Nicollet County and was confirmed at Swan Lake Lutheran Church.

Upon a family move to Ozark, Arkansas, Sandy graduated from Ozark High School in 1969.  She attended the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville where she met her future husband, Reverend John Victor Herrmann who was doing his seminary intern year there.  They were united in marriage on June 2, 1974.  They were blessed with three children, Jennifer Lee, Martin John, and Christine Joy.

Sandy is survived by her husband, John, her children, Jennifer Ellis (Brad), Martin Herrmann (Cynthia), and Christine Iadarola (Mike).  Also by five grandchildren, Lily Iadarola (10), Hailey Ellis (9), Matthew Ellis (7), Grace Iadarola (6), and Kasper Herrmann (2); her mother, Arlawaine; her sisters, Linda (David), Cindy, and Lauri.  Sandy is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, and her stepfather, Frank LaFontaine.

Sandy's strong work ethic brought her fulfillment in her career as office manager for varying companies.  She enjoyed volunteering in her children's schools and her church groups.  She also dedicated her time as a 4-H leader and loved to travel.  Of all the titles she held, “Grandma” was the one that brought her the most happiness and laughter.  Sandy is fondly remembered and will be greatly missed.
