Ruli Ishihara

Born on September 17, 1923 and passed away on March 13, 2025 after having lived a wonderful life of 101 years. Ruli is preceded in death by parents Nobutaro and Yone Kaneno, Husband Wayne Ishihara of 66 years, sisters Amy Yokoi and Karen Miyagawa, brother George Kaneno, and daughter Pearl Kai. She is survived by son Vernon (Kim); son in law Richard Kai; grandchildren Brooke (Jason) Hitomi; Corey (Daanish) Khan; Kristen (Rob) Kai-Hom; Ryan (Ashley), Coby, Nick, and Ramey Ishihara; Christina (Eric) Baylor; and Michi Wright; great-grandchildren Sammy and Emi Hitomi; Izaiah, Noah, and Mia Ishihara; Elise and Nico Khan; and Bryce Kai-Hom. She was raised in Folsom until World War II. During the war she was incarcerated in Camp 2, Poston, Arizona. At the end of the war, Ruli returned to Sacramento and worked for DMV, retiring after 34 years in 1985. At her request a private memorial service was held on March 22, 2025 at East Lawn Chapel.
