Ruben Leon

Born to Faustino Leon and Eulalia Tapia Leon on November 28, 1932 in Sacramento, California. Ruben Leon , age 91, passed away peacefully at home in Elk Grove, CA on June 7, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

 Ruben Graduated in 1954 from CK McClatchy High School in Sacramento, CA. After graduation, he served his country proudly in the US Navy and was a decorated Veteran of the Korean War.

He cherished his working career at Aerojet General in Rancho Cordova in the 1960’s; participating on the Apollo Rocket builds which resulted in the first moon landing. 

He then spent 30 years working for the State of California Department of Health Services and retired in 1998.

Ruben was a lifelong avid bowler and enjoyed spending time with family and friends sharing stories. 

He will be dearly missed, but especially by  his wife of 65 years, Esther Leon, daughter Karen Henke-Leon, daughter in law Maryanne Henke-Leon and grandson Jax Ruben Leon.
