Rowan Troy Barela

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Rowan. Rowan Troy Barela passed away tragically on September 5,2023. Rowan was born on December 25, 2019, to parents Carey Gyopyos and Edward Barela, in Sacramento, CA.

Rowan loved learning about trains and dinosaurs.  His favorite place to visit was any park with a tall slide that he could continuously go up and down. He loved playing with his many toys and using his boundless imagination, but he especially loved his favorite stuffed animal Lamb Chop. His favorite foods were Nanas (bananas) and Issa (pizza).

Rowan carried a very bright and warm light inside of him that he shared with all that he met, both young and old.  He was very outgoing and loved to give big hugs and blow sweet kisses. His smile and laugh would light up every room he entered.  He especially loved to sing and dance, if you put a microphone in his hand he would entertain for hours.

Rowan is survived by his mother Carey Gyopyos, his father Edward Barela, his big brother Sam, his grandparents Dan and Shawna Worley, his great grandma Patricia Davis, his many aunts and uncles, and a multitude of cousins. His love and life was not only shared with his dear family, but also countless people that considered him an amazing friend.  His absence will be truly felt forever.
