Rosemary Dougherty

It is with our heavy hearts to share with you that Rosemary Dougherty has passed away on September 19th, 2023 at home in Orangevale, California. She died of natural causes at the age of 87.

Rosemary was born on February 27th, 1936 to Irene and Joesph Montes, Sr. She grew up in Sacramento, California. A Native of Sacramento, 3rd generation. She had one brother, Joseph Jr (Joey) and four sisters, Barabra, Charlotte, Joanne and Irene.

She met the love of her life Ronald W. Dougherty. Sr (Ron) in 1951. The two married on January 10th, 1953 and were married for 70 years and 8 months. She had four sons, Ronald, Jr, Stephen, Jeffery and Rick. Her family traveled all over the world while Ronald was in the United States Air Force (USAF) (Greenland, Pennsylvania, Missouri and Okinawa.

In 1971, the family moved to Highland in San Bernardino, where Rosemary and Ron owned "R and R Lawnmower and Bicycle Center" Rosemary managed the businesses while supervising her sons all four boys participated in the business. In 1975, Rosemary helped out as a yard duty supervisor at Fairfax school in San Bernardino. In 1980's she worked at Photo Mat in Citrus Heights.

Rosemary and Ron went on several cruises, she was adventurous, she loved boating, driving around in her Mercedes, bingo and most of gambling where she always WON.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joey, son Stephen and sister Barbara. She is survived by her sons, Ronald Jr (Cindy), Jeffery and Rick (Julie), her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Rosemary will be missed by all who have known her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. May she rest in eternal peace.
