The Beautiful Life of Rosemarie Manning
Rosemarie was known to most as Rose, Rosie, Aunt Rose, Mom, and very affectionately by her grandchildren and great grandchildren as Grammer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dude Manning and her youngest son, Jeff Manning. She is survived by her children: Terry Manning, Linda Bailey and Glenn Manning, grandchildren: Tanda Trejo, Danielle Manning, Jeff Manning, Subrina Spanner, and Anthony Walton, and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Rose was a native Californian and grew up in the Sierra foothills town of Grass Valley. While visiting her aunt in Sacramento, she met Dude Manning, and soon they married and began their family in Sacramento. Rose was a busy, active mom; an Avon lady, on a bowling league, volunteered for school PTA, little league, camp fire girls, boy scouts, and much more. Family always came first for her. In 1969, Dude opened a business, Manning’s Body Shop, and Rose became his secretary/bookkeeper. She and Dude worked in the business for 24 years, until it closed in 1993 and they retired. If you knew Rose, you know that she was a very special person. She took the time to get to know every one she encountered. She had the biggest, most generous, loving heart. She would be the first to offer help, support and extra love to anyone struggling. She cherished her time with family and friends, and took time to stay in touch with those out of the area. In her later years, family gatherings were the light of her life. She was truly a ray of sunshine in the lives of those she touched. She lived on the sunny side of life and always saw the good in others. May we all cherish her memory and learn from the beautiful way she lived her life.
