Marysville, California - Rose Fong, a Marysville resident of 70 years, passed away peacefully November 29 at her home at the age of 91. She had Vascular Parkinsonism for over 10 years. Born in Canton, China to Ben T. Lee and Sun Ho Lee of Sacramento, Rose immigrated to the U.S. in 1937. She lived for a brief time in Salinas and then moved to Sacramento where she graduated from C.K. McClatchy High School. She was employed by the Franchise Tax Board before moving to Marysville. Rose married Gene T. Fong of Sacramento in 1953 after his army service commitment during the Korean War. She was a homemaker raising two sons and one daughter in Marysville. She was preceded by the passing of her husband Gene and son Mitchell. She is survived by her son Wesley (Jian) and daughter Tracy (John Appelgren) and two grandsons Grant and Clark Appelgren. Rose was preceded by the passing of her sister Lillian and her brothers Jack and Dean (Jeanette). She is survived by brothers Don (Linda), Wayne (Sandy), sister Mae (Ed), numerous nieces and nephews & her companion of over 30 years, Dick Fujii. Rose enjoyed working at Jack & Jill Preschool, traveling, gaming & spending time with family & friends.
