Ronald Leon Wilson

June 20, 1945 — June 11, 2024


Ron was born in Rocky Mount, NC. He was the second son of Leon and Bessie Wilson. Ron graduated from New Hanover High School in 1963. Post graduation he proudly served in the US Navy until 1967. Upon discharge from the Navy Ron attended California State University – San Jose where he studied Engineering and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. 

Ron worked in the semiconductor industry for more than 30 years within the organizations of Signetics, AMD, National Semiconductor and ultimately retiring from Intel. He was a lifelong student, seeking out new knowledge and challenges whenever and wherever possible. During his career he traveled the world as often as the opportunities came allowing him to explore a great number of countries, cultures and experiences. 

Ron resided in Boulder Creek, California for most of his adult life. He created a large homestead in the San Lorenzo Valley and was most content amongst the beauty, fresh air and solace of the Santa Cruz mountains. He maintained an active lifestyle working the mountain as a redwood farmer, ecological conservationist and botanist. Above all he loved spending time with friends and family. 

Ron was preceded in death by his parents (Leon and Bessie), Brother (Jim), Sister-in-law (Wanda), Nephew (Jimmy), Son-in-law (Scott), many Aunts and Uncles. He is survived by his Daughters Tina Wilson and Katie Thomas (Shawn), Son Andy Wilson (Katrina), Granddaughters Christine Wilson and Sarah Spear (Chris), Grandsons Jacob and Ethan Thomas, Great grandchildren Brooklynn and Jason Spear, as well as Nieces (Sharon Sullivan, Wendy Theisen, Susan Wilson) Nephew (Jamie Wilson), many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and all his friends who became family.

A celebration of life will be held for Ron in August or September of 2024.
