Ronald Shaw

Ronald Dee Shaw, born August 18, 1953, passed away on February 23, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, loyalty, and the kind of steady presence that anchored everyone around him.

Ron was salt of the earth in the truest sense. He believed in hard work, showing up, and doing things the right way — even when no one was watching. A proud veteran, he carried the quiet strength and discipline of his service throughout his life. He didn’t boast about what he had done; he simply lived it.

He was also hysterically funny. Ron had impeccable timing and a dry wit that could cut through tension in seconds. Whether it was a perfectly delivered one-liner, a mischievous grin, or a story that grew better with each retelling, he made people laugh — often when they needed it most.

Ron shared an extraordinary and lifelong bond with his twin brother, Don. Since 1974, Ron and Don made their home together in California, building a life side by side for more than five decades. Their connection was one of deep understanding, shared rhythm, and a loyalty that never wavered.

He is survived by his older brother, John, who has lived in Indiana but traveled to California often over the years to visit and stay closely connected to his brothers. Distance never diminished their bond.

Ron was reunited in heaven with his sister, Phyllis, who passed in 1994. The bond of siblings endures beyond time, and hers was a presence he never forgot.

Family was the through-line of Ron’s life — steady, enduring, and rooted in shared history. He will be remembered for his grit, his humor, his devotion to his brothers, and the simple, powerful way he moved through the world: dependable, real, and true.
