Ronald Alan Middlekauff
May 26, 1961 - April 10, 2022
Sacramento, California - Ronald Alan Middlekauff passed away on April 10, 2022, after a long illness. He was the son of Ronald and Sharon Middlekauff and was born in Sacramento County on May 26, 1961. He is the father of Hunter Chatla Middlekauff, and brother to Steve Middlekauff and Kim Irwin, and uncle to Rachael, Kayla, Ryan, Morgan, John, and Ashley.
He graduated from Rio Americano High School and earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Broadcasting from Cosumnes River College. His passion was broadcasting, and he began his professional career as a photographer for local TV news station KCRA Channel 3. His exciting career enabled him to meet Presidents, celebrities, and travel extensively to places of interest. His famous moment came with the rescue of a Border Collie named Rodeo from a rooftop during the Olivehurst flood of 1997, which brought national attention including People Magazine and an appearance on Oprah Winfrey. Ron was active in the Valley Broadcast Legends club as their Treasurer and as an Elder at Northminster Presbyterian Church.
Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending an annual camping trip called Fathers & Sons, which he attended originally with his father, Ron, and then with his son, Hunter, over the past 50 years. His primary joy was family. Ron was always excited to see his immediate family and our very large extended family at holidays and annual picnics. He stayed very connected and was the "go to" for information on family members. His greatest joy was his son, Hunter, who among other things is an excellent musician and composer. Ron enjoyed attending Hunter's concerts growing up and was very proud of his son.
The Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 am on May 20, 2022, at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 3235 Pope Avenue, Sacramento, CA. Reception to follow at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex (Creekside Landing tent), 3645 Fulton Avenue, Sacramento, CA.
