Rochelle Clarisse Fagundes

Rochelle C. Fagundes of Folsom, CA passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday May 13, 2022, in the care of the McGregor Home, she was 88 years old. She was the wife of the late Richard G. Fagundes (1999)
Born the first of 8 children to Wilfrid J.L. Demers and Yvonne C. Demers in Rehoboth MA on December 12, 1932. She was the loving sister to Rhea White (Bob), Attleboro MA, Marianne Fowler (Roy) of Orangevale CA, Robert R. Demers of Carmichael, CA, Roland Demers of Feeding Hills MA, and her heavenly siblings Dolores, Wilfrid Jr., and Dianne. She is also survived by a Stepson, John R. Fagundes of Salinas CA, and two Grandchildren, Matthew, and Claire Fagundes both of Salinas, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews. In 2015 she began being cared for by The McGregor Home.
After graduating from St. Mary’s in Taunton MA, she went on to study at Rhode Island School of Design.
She did a brief tour of the restaurant business as the owner of the Country Kitchen in Seekonk, MA for a while in the 1960’s. She was employed most of her life by the telephone companies. She started with New England Telephone in Taunton as a switchboard operator, and when her bosses witnessed her “doodles” she was quickly moved to the art department. Soon she began designing the covers for the white and yellow pages, and then on to the billboards on the roadways. Upon moving to Salinas CA, Rochelle began working for Pacific Bell in the art department, and later on retired from the easement division. Needless to say, Rochelle was very creative and a wonderful artist.
In addition to her artwork, she enjoyed family, friends, cooking, traveling and being the housekeeper for her feline friends Blondie and Blackie.
