Robert Lee Prince

Robert Lee Prince, 76, passed away on January 16, 2022, at his home in Sacramento. He was born in Birmingham, AL on December 4, 1945. He is survived by his mother Nettie Mae (Smiley) Caesar, son Robert (Loren) Prince, partner of over 30 years Juanzelyn Wright and her daughter Jacquelyn Wright, special cousins Michelle, Shelia, Denise, ShaRon, Michael and Eric, grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. Preceding him in death was his father Richard Caesar.

Robert grew up in San Francisco where he attended George Washington High School. In his high school years, he ran track and held the city record in the 100m for 20 years. Robert went on to serve stateside in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He then attended California State University-Sacramento earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration. After college, Robert went to work for Southern Pacific Railroad where he retired after 32 years.

Robert was a lifelong San Francisco 49ers fan. He enjoyed watching football and basketball. Robert’s favorite hobby was shopping at thrift stores, where he had a real knack for finding amazing treasures. He loved collecting art and coins and watching coin and art shows to learn about them.

Services will be held at East Lawn Mortuary on Thursday, January 27 at 1PM. 5757 Greenback Lane, Sacramento, CA 95841.
