Robert Eckles was born on June 27, 1969, in Sacramento, California, the oldest of four children. He was the beloved son of Robert (Bob) Eckles and Linda (Gates) Covelli. Robert left us on July 11, 2024, at the age of 55. To celebrate Robert’s remarkable life, we will gather on July 26, 2024, at Granite Bay Golf Club, Granite Bay, CA at 5 pm. In lieu of traditional mourning, we request the joy of your company to celebrate Robert’s vibrant spirit.
As a young teenage boy, Robert was introduced to the world of hunting by his father, and his love for hunting and the archery world grew as he got older. In 2001, Robert started Sierra Mountain Archery Pro Shop where he loved engaging the public and making many lasting friendships. He later went on to a manufacturer rep position for ten years with Tim Bailey & Associates covering Northern California and Northern Nevada. In 2019, Robert started Arrowtech Archery which was cut short with his lung cancer diagnosis.
Everywhere Robert went, he left a smile on people's faces. His positive attitude, quick wit, and love for people was contagious. Robert’s ability to foster genuine connections was one of his best traits, and the bonds he formed were cherished by many, especially his lifelong best friend Lynn Davey with whom he shared many adventures, and his godparents Robert (Bob) and Marsha Keen.
Above all, Robert was a devoted family man. He was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He shared a special bond with his siblings, his twin brother Richard, sister Jennifer, and brother Joshua, and took immense pride in his nieces' and nephews’ accomplishments. He was always their biggest supporter.
Robert is survived by his mother Linda Covelli; twin brother Richard Eckles with his wife Iris and nephews Zackary, Elijah, and Isaiah; sister Jennifer Swaney with her husband David, and nephews Eric Cendejas, and Edward Cendejas with his wife Chloe and their daughter Mila, and niece Brittney Cendejas with her daughter Willow; and youngest brother Joshua Lighten with his wife Courteney. His presence in their lives, marked by boundless love and unwavering support, will be deeply missed but remembered forever.
