Retired Air Force Technical Sergeant, Robert Cortez Bolus, 74, of North Highlands, CA passed away peacefully in his sleep on the evening of February 2, 2023.
Originally from Angeles City, Philippines, Robert moved to Vallejo, CA with his wife and infant son in 1971 where he joined the US Air Force as an Automotive Maintenance Specialist. He has been assigned to various bases in the US, Guam, and his hometown during his 20-year military career, including a tour at SHAPE in Belgium. He served during the Vietnam Era and during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Upon his retirement in 1991, he used his GI Bill to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from the Angeles University Foundation.
Robert has always been an active and devout member of the Iglesia ni Cristo (Church of Christ). He served many years as a Children’s Worship Service Teacher and as a Head Deacon at several congregations including Vallejo, CA; Colorado Springs, CO; Harmon, Guam; Pensacola, Florida; Clarkview - Angeles City, Philippines; Sacramento, CA and the last being in Roseville, CA. He was instrumental in the establishment of several of those congregations even while serving in the military.
A family man, he is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Annie Calilan Bolus; his three children, Tim, Roanne (Pallasigui), and Eric; his four grandchildren, Cody and Kelleryn Pallasigui, Andrei Ann and Alexander Airyc Bolus. He will be greatly missed by the family dog, Madison. He is also survived by his siblings, Rolando, of Baltimore, MD; Fernando & his wife, Victoria of Aurora, CO; Princesita (vda de Soliman) of Palmetto, FL; Reynaldo & his wife, Rosena of Baltimore, MD; and beloved sister-in-law, Lourdes Franco (vda de Bolus). His extended family includes numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, their spouses, children and grandchildren.
He has been preceded in death by his parents Atty Emigdio Bolus, Sr & Agripina Manarang Cortes Bolus; and siblings Armando Sr, Emigdio Jr (Johnny), Eduardo, Leonardo Sr, and Ricardo.
He will be buried with full military honors.
Funeral services and viewing will be at the East Lawn Mortuary and Sierra Hills Memorial Park,
