Robert Girard "Bob" Oliphant

Robert Girard (“Bob”) Oliphant born December 24, 1936 in San Francisco, CA, passed away on March 18, 2024 in Sacramento, Ca, at the age of 87.
Bob graduated from Sacramento High School, attended college and served in the USAF Reserves for 6 years while embarking on a 40+ year career with the California Department of Education.
He loved his family, friends, and being outdoors working in his beautiful yard as well as sports of any kind. He was a lifelong fan of the S.F. Giants, S.F 49ers and the Sacramento Kings.
Bob is preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Jean Oliphant; his parents James E. Oliphant and Gyretha M. Oliphant, and brother, Michael E. Oliphant and brother-in-law, James Richard Forsyth.
Bob is survived by his only child Lisa Newberry, son-in law Michael Newberry and only Grandchild Alyssa Newberry; second wife and friend, Frances M. Saner; brothers James Gary Oliphant and Richard E. Oliphant; sister Maleta M. Forsyth; numerous nieces and nephews as well as their children; and his long-time companion and sweetheart Judy Broshar.
Bob will be dearly missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 12 at 11:00 AM at East Lawn Memorial Park 4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, CA. Burial will follow the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
