Born December 3, 1920 in Weed, California to John Negro (deceased 1976) and Teresa Barbieri (Deceased 1925). Ritz graduated from Sacramento High School in 1939 and attended Sacramento City College. He was drafted by the Navy during World War II, while his father, John was sent to an Italian immigrant detention facility in Angeles Camp, California. He married his loving wife, Mildred "June" Brandon on November 22, 1942. They were married for 62 years. Ritz founded Feather River Spring Water , and later acquiring Sierra Spring Water Company, on April 1, 1950. Ritz served two terms on the Sacramento City Council and he served on the board of the Sumitomo Bank as well as several charities in the Sacramento area. Ritz was preceded in death by his wife, June in 2005 and by his only sibling, Gilberta Mooney in 1986. He is survived by Two children and Three grandchildren. A celebration of Ritz' life will be held on April 1, 2024 at 11AM at East Lawn Mortuary, 4300 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95819. A rception will follow the services.
