Rick L. German, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024 at his home in Elk Grove, CA at the age of 66.
Rick was born on April 24th, 1958 in Yerington, Nevada to RL German and Lois German.
Rick attended local schools in the greater Sacramento area and graduated from Elk Grove High School Class of ’76.
Rick worked at the Sacramento plant of Procter and Gamble for 39 years before retiring.
Many knew Rick as a person who would drop anything to help a loved one, friend or stranger in need. He was active in the community including attending field trips with his children, volunteering to assist as a coach and umpiring for Elk Grove Youth Baseball, assisting in the chain crew for the Elk Grove Thundering Herd football, photography for Elk Grove High School Track and Field, as well as portraying Santa Claus for the 319th United States Army Reserve Signal Battalion stationed in Sacramento.
He is survived by his wife of 45+ years, Dawn Marie (Hill) German; Children, Michael German (Tina) and Ryan German; Mother, Lois German; sister, Vicky Lemmons; brother, Vernon German; and five grandchildren, Elicia, Eleia, Isaiah, Eliana and Elyssa.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held on Thursday, December 19th, 2024, at 9:00 AM, with chapel services beginning at 10:00 AM at East Lawn in Elk Grove.
His family warmly invites all who knew him to come together to honor his memory.
