Richard "Todd" Mory Fernandez

Richard “Todd” Mory Fernandez, devoted husband, father and grandfather peacefully departed this life on February 4, 2025 at the age of 80 years old.

Todd is survived by his wife, Sheljean; his children, Michael, Ricky, Brian, Tara, Cory, Che, Tianna, and Seth; his 15 grandchildren; and his sisters Thelma, Norma, Susan, and Elaine. Todd is predeceased by his parents Leslie and Trinidad; and brothers Robert, Samuel, and Leslie Jr.

Todd was born in Corregidor Island, Cavite City, Philippines in 1944 and moved to Kalihi, Honolulu on the island of Oahu Hawaii in his teenage years. He lived most of his adult life in California; initially settling in the Bay Area and then in Sacramento.

Todd was an avid golfer, bowler and automobile enthusiast. He achieved mastery in his hobbies quickly, scoring a perfect 300 in bowling on several occasions, playing golf several times a week, and successfully restoring any and every automobile that came his way.

Todd was steadfast in his faith to God, a devoted family man, and known to many as the life of the party. He attended church diligently and encouraged others to follow a spiritual path. He was the center of attention at family gatherings where he was especially adored by his grandchildren who affectionately called him “Papa.” He could always be found socializing, making others laugh, and was always the first and last one on the dance floor.

Although Todd is no longer with us physically, his spiritual presence will forever be in our hearts. May his memory be a blessing as we carry forth his legacy of love and compassion in all that we do. 

To honor the life of Richard “Todd” Mory Fernandez, a viewing and funeral service will be held at East Lawn Mortuary & Sierra Hills Memorial Park at 5757 Greenback Lane Sacramento, CA 95841. The viewing is scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2025 and Friday, February 28, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial services will immediately follow.
