Rev. Hector T. Chavez Sr
June 4, 1941 — March 29, 2023
Sacramento
Our beloved father and pastor Rev. Hector Chavez Sr. passed away peacefully on March 29, 2023, after a long battle with illness. He was surrounded by his wife and children singing songs of worship and praise. He is survived by wife, Ana Clara Chavez, daughters, Cira Maria Chavez Ore, Ana Elizabeth Gonzalez, Norma Noemi Quero, Dorcas Rebeca Quero, Kelly Cindy Siguenza, and son, Hector David Chavez.
He was born in Peru on June 4th, 1941. A holiday, as he said. He had very little as a child and as a young man but worked very hard to move up in life. He met Ana Chavez in Lima and together they built a family and home and were married for 57 beautiful years. Together, they started ministry as pastors of the Assemblies of God at a very young age. They planted churches and served as lead pastors of very beautiful congregations in Peru. They also graduated together with their bachelors degree in Business Administration and from seminary.
Together, alongside their children they moved to the United States and planted the church “Centro Evangelistico Templo La Hermosa” now known as “Templolife” led by son, Hector David Chavez. Here in the United States, they had to work hard to support their children and pursue ministry as well, as they had to restart from zero. Through hard work and the grace of God they were able to impact and serve countless families. Hector’s desire for excellence in himself and others served him and his family to persevere and grow in the call of God over his life.
In his last years of life, Hector served as missionary for the charitable organization, Droplets of Love in the outskirts of Peru serving children and families in poverty. Hector was in ministry for over 55 years and had the most giving and selfless heart. He was always ready to serve and give to whomever needed a helping hand. He always opened up his home and helped families in need. He truly lived out the heart of the Father. His love for God and people will live on as his legacy through children, grandchildren, and generations to come.
The Chavez family wishes to thank all those who helped us in the past few months and were very attentive with Hector through his health journey. Your support has meant the world to us all, May God bless you. The Celebration of life service will be held at The Lord’s Church in Mather, CA on Saturday, April 8th, 2023. Viewing will be at 9:30am and service will begin at 10:30am. A burial will occur at East Lawn Memorial Park 4300 Folsom Blvd, Sacramento, Ca. 95819 at 2pm on the same day. All friends and family are welcome and appreciated.
