Born on May 16, 1972, Rainier “Jeff” Mariano departed from this world too soon on December 11, 2025.
In honoring Jeff’s memory, we reflect on the loss of an individual whose life was defined by devotion to family, faith, and education. Jeff was a lifelong learner - he earned two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Washington - B.A in English and B.A in Anthropology, a Juris Doctor from Hamline University, and an MBA from Sacramento State University. His quest for knowledge was unquenchable, his passion and interests varied and expressed through music, travel, and love of nature. A gourmet, he loved to cook and tried new recipes both exotic and Filipino. Jeff will be remembered for his love for his HOLD Titas, who lovingly dubbed him the “Servant of the Handmaids,” hoping to transition him to the CFC Servant of the Lord.
Jeff valued and cherished his family. He left behind his loving mother Rose, his brother Brian, sister-in-law Michelle, nephews Anthony, Justin and Christian, and niece Marissa as well as the newest addition to the Mariano family, Carmen. He was predeceased by his father Antonio, Jr and his brother Roy. His memory will be cherished by aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends. His loss will be deeply felt by all who know him.
Rainier worked as an independent contractor, a freelance legal clerk, researcher, and business consultant, a legal clerk intern and contributory faculty for MN, and a Judicial clerk intern for Hon Steven Wheeler. He was Project Manager of Software Development for Lockstream Corporation in Bellevue, and Content and Copy Editor for AskMe.Com, Seattle WA.
Jeff also taught English in Independence High School in San Jose, CA He loved sports and coached an Elk Grove Rugby team. Most noteworthy to add to this list - Volunteer family Caregiver. He left St Paul to take care of his mother after her Meningioma surgery.
Rainier “Jeff” Mariano will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
