Paul Castillo (aka Castello) was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico 1953. He passed away peacefully at home in Sacramento, CA, on June 20, 2024, after a short battle with cancer.
He leaves behind his wife, Victoria Vann, stepson Vann Cacace, and siblings, Gail Castello, Alan Castello, Lorianne Stapleton, Beth Bakulaev, and Lynn Zephryna. Paul, the eldest of six children, was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Virginia (Ginny) Castello.
Paul led a very colorful life. As a youngster, he was no stranger to trouble but always did it with a smile. Paul was fearless. At 18, he survived a devastating apartment fire that almost took his life.
His adventures included scaling mountains such as Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Whitney, and Base Camp Mt. Everest, as well as engaging in skydiving, motorcycle riding, and traveling worldwide. During one of his trips to Israel, Paul became a believer in the Lord.
Paul's incredible sense of humor brightened the lives of those around him. His compassion and dedication to those in need led him through various career paths. He dedicated 17 years to serving as an eligibility worker in Santa Cruz County, assisting families with children, before retiring.
His love for his family and friends knew no bounds, and those who knew him cherished him dearly.
We will always remember Paulie.
