Park L. W. Fong passed away after a brief illness on March 21, 2025, at the age of 93. Born in Shreveport, Louisiana, Park lived most of his life in Sacramento, California. He is survived by his wife, Fai; their daughter, Jeannie; his daughter from a previous marriage, Kathleen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Park enlisted in the U.S. Airforce and was stationed in Korea and Japan during the Korean War. Upon returning stateside, he worked closely with his brother at their family grocery store. He spent many years working in the grocery industry before changing career paths and becoming an accountant.
Park enjoyed bowling, fishing, woodworking, gardening, traveling, and always lending a helping hand to friends and family. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and fun uncle. He was known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, generosity, humor, and wisdom.
Deeply loved and admired by many, Park will be immensely missed. His memory will live on in the hearts of those privileged enough to have known him.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95819. Funeral services will occur on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the chapel of East Lawn Memorial Park, interment will follow the service.
