Pacifico Enriquez Sabile

Sep 25, 1940 — Jun 2, 2026

Elk Grove, California

It is with profound sadness and deep love that we share the passing of our beloved father, Pacifico Enriquez Sabile (Tatay Pikong), on June 2, 2026, at the age of 85.

Born on September 25, 1940, in Santa Cruz, Manila, Philippines, to Antonio P. Sabile Sr. and Gliceria Sabile. He grew into a man defined by quiet wisdom and unwavering support — the kind of person who anchored his family and friends without ever needing attention or praise. He led with gentleness, patience, and a steady strength that made people feel safe just by being near him. His kindness wasn’t loud; it lived in small, everyday moments — in the way he listened fully, offered help before being asked, and always made room for others to lean on him. He was thoughtful, dependable, and deeply loyal — a man whose character spoke louder than any words ever could. He carried himself with humility and a deep faith that grounded every part of his life. He worked tirelessly and always put his family first, leading not through grand gestures but through the steady example he set every single day.

Tatay Pikong had a passion for the simple joys in life, whether tending to his garden, working with his hands, or cheering on his favorite team, the Golden State Warriors. Wherever he went, he brought warmth and familiarity. He had that rare gift of making friends effortlessly, and his advice—always grounded and had a way of staying with you long after the conversation ended.

As a father, he was our rock. He taught us the value of hard work, the importance of family, and how to face life’s challenges with courage and faith. Though he was a man of few words, his love for us was unmistakable. The stories he shared—about our family’s history, his childhood, and the people who shaped him—were not just memories of him. They were lessons. Dad found gentle ways to remind us of where we came from, helping us stay connected to our roots and proud of the journey that brought the Sabile family to where it is today. His stories weren’t simply about the past; they were gifts meant to guide us into the future.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Mercy; his children and their spouses, Mervin (Ofelia), Armin (Beng), and Eric (Nadia); and his 9 grandchildren (Daenielle, Michelle, Amiel, Aubrey, Aidan, Cedric, Sophia, Andrew, Elijah), the lights of his life. He also leaves behind a wide circle of extended family and friends whose lives were touched by his kindness. He was preceded in death by those loved ones who went before him.

As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that Tatay Pikong’s influence will live on through each of us. The lessons he taught, the love he gave, and the memories we carry will continue to shape our lives in ways big and small.

For those who know Christ, just like our Tatay knew Christ, death is not the end. We are saying goodbye for now, knowing we will see him again in glory. His faith has now become sight. He is now at peace in the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.

Tatay, you may be gone from our sight, but you will remain forever in our hearts. Rest in peace. We love you. Thank you, Tatay Pikong.
