Oscar Lomotan Estrella

Oscar Lomotan Estrella, born on August 31, 1932, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 14, 2024 in Sacramento, California. 

Born to Eugenio and Maria Estrella of Malolos Bulacan, Philippines, he is one of six children. He met the love of his life, Cecilia (Lilia) Reyes, at University of the East and they were married on December 27, 1961.

Oscar worked for several years as a CPA in the Philippines before he immigrated with his wife and two children to United States in 1971.  His family lived in Minnesota for 8 years, where he worked as an Accountant at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Seeking more warmth and sunshine, Oscar moved his family to California in 1979. He was an Accountant for 23 years at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento until he happily retired in 2002.

Oscar was an adoring husband, dedicated father, a funny and wonderful grandfather. He will be greatly missed by Lilia, his loving wife of 62 years and his two children, Eloisa Bibby and her spouse, Brian and Oscar Estrella Jr. and his spouse, Susana. He will be cherished and remembered by his 4 grandchildren, Gabrielle, Rachelle, Anna, Maxwell and Oscar’s sister, Evelyn Sebastian and her spouse Amor.

Oscar was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Lourdes Fernandez, Eugenio Estrella Jr., Norma Makapugay and Fiammetta Santos and grandson, Bryson Bibby.  

A Viewing and Rosary will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95819. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 1:00 pm at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Boulevard, Sacramento, CA 95819.
