Raymond Noboru Yasui

Raymond (Ray) Noboru Yasui, 87 years old, passed away on April 3, 2026. Ray was born on January 20, 1939, to Frank and Kazuye Yasui and was a long time resident of Sacramento, CA. He was a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many.

Ray recalled when he was 3 years old leaving his home due to Executive Order 9066, which sent their family to be incarcerated at several different internment camps during WWII. The family stayed at Tule Lake, CA, Jerome, AK, and Poston, AZ. After the war, he and his family returned to the Sacramento area where he grew up and attended local schools, graduating from Sacramento High School. Ray also served in the U.S. Army from November 1961-October 1963 and received his basic training at the Fort Ord, U.S. Army facility near Pacific Grove, CA.

While Ray was attending class at Sacramento City College, he met the love of his life, Margie Masuhara. They were married on March 22, 1964, and were inseparable until her passing on July 14, 2022. Ray and Margie had a daughter, Cheryl, and they continued to reside in Sacramento surrounded by family and friends.

Ray had a long and dedicated career working closely with client accounts in the wholesale produce industry, as well as working in retail managing produce sales. He regularly shared favorite fresh produce items with family and friends which were all much appreciated.

Ray was an avid bowler, participating in tournaments and leagues which included many friends and relatives. A high point in Ray’s bowling career was bowling a perfect 300 game during a tournament in Reno, NV. He and Margie enjoyed the Sacramento Kings and had season tickets for many seasons. Ray also looked forward to each football season and was a fan of the San Franciso 49ers and other teams as well as other sporting events.

In addition to his wife, Margie, Ray is predeceased by his parents, brother Henry (the late Hope), and sister Marian Togioka (the late Johnnie).

He is survived by his cherished daughter, Cheryl. Ray also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ray was greatly loved by family and friends and we will all miss him. Per his request, no services will be held
