On December, 26, 2015, Phyllis M. Morris passed away peacefully with her husband of 55 years by her side. Phyllis was born in Larned, Kansas, the youngest of 5 children. She is preceded in death by her parents Harry & Nellie Johnson and her only brother, Cecil. Phyllis is survived in life by her husband, Hardy Morris, her only son, Jonathan (Lori) and 2 grandchildren, Ian and Isaac. Phyllis also leaves behind her three sisters: Louise, Coila, and Mareita and lots of friends.
In 1960, Phyllis came to the "Sunshine State" immediately after college to pursue employment opportunities. She found a job right away, but even better, she met the love of her life, Hardy Morris in Garden Grove, CA. In 1961, Phyllis and Hardy were married.
Phyllis and her husband operated the only – and largest in America - certified raw goat milk dairy, in Ripon, California. As part of the dairy operations, they shipped hundreds of goats to third-world countries and consulted with those countries helping them establish successful dairies on their own.
After selling the dairy business, they moved to Sacramento County where they have resided for the past 30 years. After a brief break, Phyllis went to work for P&R Towers where she has continuously worked for 28 years. She will be sorely missed by P&R Towers' employees and clients. Phyllis provided professional services and warm, "motherly" support to many people over the years.
Phyllis loved being a wife and mother. Her home was warm and welcoming. She also loved being "Nana" to Ian and Isaac and she enjoyed teaching them arts and crafts and taking them school shopping every year. Phyllis also loved animals and, as a child, she had a real menagerie.
Phyllis leaves an enormous void in the lives of all who know and will forever love her. Her family asks that, instead of flowers, you make a donation to the American Cancer Society by calling 1-800-227-2345 or mailing a check to Sacramento Office of the American Cancer Society at 1545 River Park Drive, Sacramento, CA 95815, Suite #100. Please indicate that it is for Phyllis Morris and please specify stomach or gastric cancer research because in this country, this type of cancer is often not detected before it is too late.
