Maxine White-Setterlund WHITE-SETTERLUND, Maxine Passed away peacefully on November 11, 2004, in Sacramento, California. She entered into Heaven with a smile on her face and a song in her heart. Maxine had never met a person she didn't like. She enjoyed being with people. She is truly in a cloud ofwitnesses. Maxine is survived by her only son, Neil White of Sacramento, California. She is also survived by her step-son, Bill Setterlund, Jr, and her step-daughter, Vicki Setterlund and their son, Jamie of Encinitas, California. Also another step-son and his wife, Steve and Jan Setterlund of Isaquah, Washington. In addition, Maxine is survived by numerous nephews, nieces, sons and daughters-in-law and countless friends. Her dearest friend, Nana Meyer, her son Neil and her niece Janelle Robinson, were by her side to the very end. Maxine and her husband, Edward, helped to save the giant Redwoods from lumber interests in the Calavaras Big Trees National Forest. Thanks to her efforts, they're still there! She will long be remembered for her elegance, and style, compassion, caring and quick wit, and keen sense of humor. Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel Byron Smith and Betsy Estella Pratt of Oakland, California, her loving husbands, Edward A. White and Bill Setterlund, Sr., and was the last in a long line of two brothers and five sisters. In Sacramento, Maxine was a longtime member of Faith Presbyterian Church. At Faith, she was the only Pew-Person since the opening of the current sanctuary and was also a twenty-five year member of New Hope Chapter, No. 117, Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Land Park Ladies Golf Club, Bing Maloney Executive Ladies Club, and a volunteer worker for over 11 years for both the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society, as well as Loaves & Fishes. After retiring as a Real Estate Broker with her husband Edward at Rubicon Bay, Lake Tahoe, Maxine moved back to Sacramento and became affiliated with the Retired Couples Club at Campus Commons. During her career, she was also an employment Placement Councilor for the State of California at Sacramento City College. Friends are invited to attend a celebration of life memorial service at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2004, at the Faith Presbyterian Church, 625 Florin Rd., Sacramento, California. Private interment at East Lawn Memorial Park in Sacramento. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
