Maria Guadalupe Bravo was born January 8, 1930. She was one of twelve children to the parents of Tomas Zepeda and Blasa Gutierrez in El Paso, Texas.
Her life began at the early age of 14 when she met Jose Bravo.
In August of 1944, they joined in marriage and soon created a family. They were blessed with four daughters and one son.
The family traveled from Texas to California where they settled in the Sierra Nevada Mountains in a little town called Blue Canyon.
As a wife of a railroad laborer, Maria matured through hardship and became a self-taught mother. From dawn to dusk, living in the mountains was a daily struggle and yet she found enjoyment in the simple things like the love of sewing, crocheting, gardening and cooking for her family.
Maria was a giving, strong-willed, spiritually dedicated, devoted wife and Loving Mother.
She lived her final years in Sacramento before being called home. Maria leaves to cherish in her memory her husband, Jose of 64 years and their children Margarita, Emma, Irene, Norma and Joe.
Maria is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandson. And a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
" God called you home, may you forever rest in peace."
Dios te bendiga, vayas condios. Siempre te voy adorar.
